Stress Relievers are a kind of toys, which are malleable, differ in size and shape. Nevertheless, the standard diameter of one is no more than 7cm. In order to manipulate the stress reliever, you need to place it in your hands and work it around with your fingers. It is multi-functional, but the main purpose is stated in its name: to release stress. In addition, they can also be used for exercising the hand muscles and relieve muscle tension.
They come in many different forms and can be manufactured from different materials; a lot of them are manufactured from closed cell polyurethane foam rubber. To create the reliever a mould must first be produced, from here the liquid component is injected into the mould resulting in a chemical reaction which creates carbon dioxide bubbles, these bubbles consequently create the foam and the stress reliever is made.
There are variations to this like relievers that contain a gel inside the rubber skin, the gel can be of different densities and just like the foam it gives you a product that is squeezable and workable through the fingers, however the feel of the product will be quite different from one made entirely of foam.
The same gel formula can be used within a cloth skin; once again a different feel is produced when the final product emerges.
One final type that can be created are stress balls with a fine powder inside, this powder is surrounded by a thin rubber membrane, producing yet another different feeling when squeezed in the hand.
